Mercadona’s new headquarters in Albalat dels Sorells, Valencia, is a striking example of modern workplace design. The project comprises four interconnected blocks covering 35,000m² across three floors, with a three-level underground parking garage.
The offices are designed to accommodate 2,600 employees using the Workplace Erre methodology, an activity-based office concept that replaces traditional, isolated departments with open, flexible, and agile workspaces.
More than 8,000m² of Formica® Laminate was specified throughout the project, using six carefully selected decors in standard 0.7mm HPL and 6mm and 12mm compact laminate:
In collaboration with ERRE Arquitectura, Decomader manufactured and installed over 3,700m² of Formica® HPL wall cladding and 380m² of magnetic laminate, as well as bespoke room dividers and 180 technical doors with a range of specifications.
The finished offices not only meet functional and safety standards but also create an inspiring environment for collaboration and innovation. The project has been widely praised by Mercadona and ERRE Arquitectura, highlighting the value of design-led manufacturing in creating exceptional workspaces.
