Put Your Woodworking Skills to the Test: Formica Corporation’s 2025 Formica® Build-a-Thon Competition is Live!

Competition does not start until February 28th.

The 2025 Formica® Build-a-Thon Competition is open for entries through May 16, 2025. Participants are invited to create a custom fabricated children’s toy bin, then donate their creations to a local charity of their choice after the competition has ended. The toy bin must incorporate at least one but no more than five sheets of Formica® Laminate. With safety in mind, the toy bin should not have a lid nor exceed 30” width x 20” depth x 24” height.

When you are ready to submit your final project, please download the submission document  and submit all entry materials to na.buildcontest@formica.com via email.

Prizes

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a donation of toys worth $1,000 to a charity of their choice. The Second-Place Winner will receive a donation of toys worth $500 to a charity of their choice. The Third-Place Winner will receive a donation of toys worth $250 to a charity of their choice. The top three winners will receive public recognition, as well as be featured on a selection of Formica Group’s communication channels.

About the Competition

The Formica® Build-a-Thon Competition is a new challenge launched in 2025 by Formica Corporation. Directed towards the woodworking community, this competition allows participants to use their skills in a creative and philanthropic manner. The first 25 registrants to complete the form above will receive a one-time code good for two 4’ x 8’ Formica® Laminate sheets through Formica.com/shopping, free of charge!
